About Wigs for Kids

Wigs for Kids BC (W4K BC) helps kids living with cancer, live better.

A proudly volunteer-run organization, W4K BC provides funding to cover the cost of custom-made human-hair wigs for children and teens at BC Children's Hospital who have suffered hair loss due to cancer treatment or other serious illnesses. Donations to W4K BC also help families pay for medications and feeding supplies that are essential for treatment but not covered by their medical plan.

When a child has a serious illness it takes an enormous toll on the entire family–both emotionally and financially. The assistance W4K BC provides makes the family's burden a little lighter so they can focus more of their time and energy on caring for their sick child.

By contributing to W4K BC, you are making a tremendous difference in the lives of children living with cancer –and their families–across the province. Thank you for your support.

Join Aiden's Army

Thursday 9th Jul
Our nephew Aiden is currently undergoing cancer treatment at the Children's hospital in Chicago following surgery to remove a brain tumor at CHEO. We are far away and doing what we can to support and love him and the rest of the family through this. Aiden is one of the toughest kids I know but is feeling understandably emotional. As an act of solidarity, my boys are shaving their heads so they can look as cool as their cousin/nephew. While I won't be doing that, I do have a lot of hair that could go towards helping a child in a similar situation here in BC. I will be cutting and donating my hair before heading back to school in the fall. It takes several hair donations as well as money to get a wig ready for a child so, as part of Aiden's Army that was started in Ottawa, I am collecting pledges to support Wigs for Kids. it is just one small way that I can help lighten the load for a family in need the way so many are supporting Aiden and his family.
