I’m helping kids be mighty
Our journey with BC Children's Hospital began when our daughter, Kaitlyn, was a year old. We had noticed that she wasn't meeting her milestones so we were referred the hospital for further evaluation. Every doctor and nurse was not only supportive but determined to find answers. After a series of tests, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Beta-Propeller Protein-Associated Neurodegeneration (BPAN), a very rare genetic disorder affecting fewer than 1,000 people worldwide. This news rocked our world.
Thanks to the dedicated team at BC Children's, Kaitlyn continues to receive the care she needs to thrive. The doctors, nurses, and staff have been there for us every step of the way, offering both medical expertise and emotional support. They are helping Kaitlyn and so many other children and families facing health challenges.
