I’m helping kids be Mighty

Thursday 6th Mar
On June 8th we are running for our daughter Lilah who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at 8 months old. We will be running with our team “T8 avengers” which includes caregivers and children who have all spent time on Floor 8- Oncology/Hematology/BMT at BCCH. 

Lilah spent the first two years of her life battling cancer at BCCH. 

After beating cancer shortly after her 1st birthday, we found out 5 months later that her cancer came back. She spent another 8 months doing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and 21 sessions of radiation.

During our stay at BCCH we quickly realized how important it is to have Children’s hospitals, specifically BCCH who are actively working hard for all children in the medical world. I am so grateful to have had top notch care for Lilah, and hope that in the future even more research is done to help kids like Lilah fight illnesses. 

As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.

Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.
