About Wigs for Kids
Wigs for Kids BC (W4K BC) helps kids living with cancer, live better.
A proudly volunteer-run organization, W4K BC provides funding to cover the cost of custom-made human-hair wigs for children and teens at BC Children's Hospital who have suffered hair loss due to cancer treatment or other serious illnesses. Donations to W4K BC also help families pay for medications and feeding supplies that are essential for treatment but not covered by their medical plan.
When a child has a serious illness it takes an enormous toll on the entire family–both emotionally and financially. The assistance W4K BC provides makes the family's burden a little lighter so they can focus more of their time and energy on caring for their sick child.

Wigs for Kids BC
Friday 9th OctIt's that length again, folks! ✂️ I'm chopping the luscious locks to donate to Wigs for Kids BC, and I'm raising money to help cover the cost of making the wig (generally around $2,500). Anything raised beyond that will go toward supporting kids receiving care at BC Children's Hospital.
Every donation makes a difference and is so appreciated. If everyone who sees this post donates just $1, I think we could easily raise enough to get this wig made!
This is my second time donating my hair, and it really does make a huge difference. Last time, I received the most beautiful thank-you card and a photo of the young girl wearing the wig. It was such a special reminder of how much something as simple as a haircut can mean to someone.

A little more about BC Children's Hospital Foundation:
BC Children's Hospital is the only hospital in the province dedicated exclusively to caring for children. It provides expert care for some of the sickest and most seriously injured kids in BC, while also supporting research and children's mental health.
For anyone with long hair (or the patience to grow it!), I highly recommend considering a hair donation at your next haircut. You can make a real difference in a child's life. 😊
