I'm inspired by the work of BC Children Hospital Foundation, so I wanted to raise money by fundraising my way.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can. The more people that know about BC Children Hospital Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Tuesday 26th May
2026 BCCHF All-Banks Slo-Pitch Classic Rules

Note: This tournament is for fun and for charity. Depending on how serious the teams playing are, some of these rules may be relaxed based on the wishes of the teams playing. Please have fun!
3- Pitch softball rules are in effect for all games. This will ensure games remain fun for everyone
and run-on time. IMPORTANT SITE & EVENT POLICIES
Absolutely no alcohol is to be brought onto tournament grounds or consumed in the parking lot.
Violating/Breaking this rule jeopardizes further participation in the tournament by offending
teams. In addition, consumption of any narcotics on tournament grounds will result in immediate
player or team disqualification from tournament.
Profanity rule is in effect – strictly enforced. As a gentle reminder, the event’s main goal is for
participants to have fun while helping BC’s kids. Swearing and other mean-spirited behavior may
result in removal from the park or an out to the guilty team.

1.  Game Time Limits
No new inning after 40 minutes (complete game is 7 innings). Maximum duration is 45 minutes.

2.  Tied Game Outcomes
Round Robin: Games tied after seven complete innings or time limit will be considered ties.
Playoff Games: In the event of a tie, per international rules, the last player out in the previous
inning will start on second base with one out in the inning.

3.  Home team
•  Will be decided by a coin toss prior to the start of every game, including playoffs.
•  Home teams will not be allowed to bat in the last inning if they are leading.

4.  Game Start Time
Please follow the posted schedules. Umpires will determine start time for game.

5.  Volunteer Umpires
Please keep in mind that the umpires are volunteering their time and need to be treated with
respect. In some cases, they may not be experienced umpires. Each time slot will have a team that
is sitting off. The ask is for that team to provide umpires for the games going on or assist with
the volunteer activities.

6.  Team Rosters
A roster will consist of 9-18 players per team. Teams must field a maximum of 9 defensive players,
not including a pitcher, which is provided by the team at bat. The team cannot field more than 6
defensive male players at one time.

7.  Player Substitutions
You have unlimited player substitutions defensively.

8. Restrictions
Players must be at least 16 years of age. All players who are 18 or younger must submit a waiver
signed by their parent or guardian. The tournament is for Scotiabankers only -exceptions can me
made for teams that may not have enough players to field a team.

9.  Batting Order Rules
The ratio of men to women in the batting order cannot exceed 2:1 and no more than 2 men can hit
consecutively in the order. In the event that a team consists of many more men than women (higher
than 2:1 ratio), women are permitted to hit more than once in the order (maintaining their order in
relation to other women in the original batting order). You can sub in your extra players
throughout the game.

10. Pitching
▪  The team at bat will furnish a pitcher.
▪  After 3 pitches, if the batter has not hit safely, the batter is out.
▪  If a batted ball hits the pitcher (excluding contact resulting from deflecting the ball in
self-defense) and the pitcher does not make a reasonable effort to avoid the batted ball, the
batter is out, the ball is dead, and runners return to their original bases.
▪  A foul ball on the 3ʳᵈ pitch will result in an out.
•  A batted ball must go outside the ‘dead ball zone’ line to be considered a live ball (it can
roll out). If a defensive player touches a ball in motion prior to it passing the zone, the ball is
live.
• “Dead ball zone” line determined by umpire in keeping with agreed-upon policy. If not it will be
consider a dead ball strike (will be an out if it is on the third pitch).

11. Lead-offs
There are no lead-offs. The runner may advance only on contact. (The umpire's discretion is based
on anticipation.)

12. Female Batters
When a female batter hits the ball into the outfield, the outfielder cannot throw a female batter
out at first base (does not apply to other bases or home), they must relay it in.

13. Runs Per Inning
There will be a maximum of 5 runs per inning up to and including the 4th inning. All innings after
the 4th will be open. If, due to time limits, the last inning occurs before the end of the fourth,
then the umpire shall declare the last playable inning open.

14. Scoring
When scoring a run, runners should not touch home plate, they must touch/run past the scoring line.
In order to get a runner out, the fielding team’s catcher must have possession of the ball and step
on the plate before the runner crosses the scoring line.

15. Sliding and Bunting
There is no bunting. There is no sliding into any base. If you bunt or slide, you will be called
out.

16. Mercy Rule
If, after 4 complete innings, a team is ahead by 10 runs and the trailing team does not wish to
keep playing, the umpire may declare the game over and the leading team will be declared the
winner.

17. Equipment
Please bring your own baseball gloves and warm up balls. Facemasks and batting helmets are strongly
recommended (see #20). We will have a limited supply of bats to use. We will be providing the game
ball.
•  All bats used must have the logo below.

18. Game Attire
Please wear appropriate attire and use caution, as falling, skidding, tumbling on gravel can be a
hazard to your health. Please note that all blood injuries MUST be covered to prevent transference.
The umpires will make these calls. Note: No metal spikes or large pieces of jewelry should be worn.

All pitchers must wear face protection. A face mask that covers the temples or pitcher’s helmet. We
will have  a mask to use at each field (no need to purchase one). Teams can have a designated
pitcher (IE one that only pitches and does not bat to preserve time).

21. Helmets and facemasks
Helmets for batters, base runners, and batters in the on-deck circle are strongly recommended. It
is also strongly recommended for infielders to wear facemasks.

22. Format and Tiebreakers
There are seven teams in this tournament. Teams will play four Round Robin games and upon
completion will be seeded 1-7. The top two records after the round robin will advance to the
championship game -if the same bank is in the top two seeds they can merge and play the next
highest seeded bank. Coin-flip for all games including the FINAL. Round Robin games can end in a
tie. In playoffs if games are tied after time/7 innings we will go into International rules where
the last batter in the previous inning will start on 2ⁿᵈ base with 1 out. Tiebreaker if applicable
to be determined as follows the round robin.
2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. Maximum run differential per game is
+/- 7 runs
Tiebreaker in the Round Robin standings is determined in this order:
1- Greatest run differential (+/- 7 per game)
2- If still tied, greater number of wins
3- If still tied, least number of losses
4- If still tied, greatest number of total runs (all runs)
5- If still tied, least amount of runs against (all runs against)
6- If still tied, coin flip

NOTE: This is a no protest tournament. Umpires’ decisions are final. Please refrain from
complaining
about any calls that have been made.
