We have joined the Fairy Garden Trail Art Exhibition in Support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation
We, divisions 12, 13, 14 and 15 kids at Henry Hudson are participating in the Fairy Garden Trail community art exhibition at VanDusen Garden. We will be putting our creativity and teamwork together and building our very own Fairy Garden. As our imagination comes alive during this project, we will also be fundraising to support kids just like us through the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. You do not need to look far to see and know the impact that BC Children’s Hospital has on our Vancouver community.
Here at Hudson we R.I.S.E to learn and play, this means we show Respect & Resilience, Integrity, Safety and Empathy. This project is a way for us to show how we can engage our R.I.S.E skills within our community and hope to pass along what we have been learning all year at Hudson.
This project is made possible by the support of the Hudson division 12,13,14 and 15 teachers, administration and Parent Advisory Council. Please follow along with our Fairy Garden journey on the PAC Instagram @henryhudsonpac and check back to see our fundraising progress.
Join us at the Fairy Garden Trail Vancouver public event on June 27th at VanDusen Botanical Garden’s, where you will see our art installation along with the other participating schools, see all the details and register at:

Our Why
Through this project, Kindergarten students in Divisions 12, 13, 14, and 15 are deepening their understanding of their Social Studies unit on community. As part of their learning, students will design and create a “community” themed fairy garden to contribute to the VanDusen walking trail. This hands-on experience helps students explore the idea that communities are made up of diverse individuals who share common needs, roles, and responsibilities.
This project deepens students’ understanding by connecting classroom learning to real-world action. By fundraising in support of children and families at BC Children’s Hospital, students begin to see themselves as active members of a community who can contribute in meaningful ways. This builds early awareness of social responsibility and highlights the importance of helping others beyond their immediate surroundings. The experience also strongly reinforces Hudson R.I.S.E. values – Respect; Resilience, Integrity, Safety, and Empathy.
