About Wigs for Kids

Wigs for Kids BC (W4K BC) helps kids living with cancer, live better.

A proudly volunteer-run organization, W4K BC provides funding to cover the cost of custom-made human-hair wigs for children and teens at BC Children's Hospital who have suffered hair loss due to cancer treatment or other serious illnesses. Donations to W4K BC also help families pay for medications and feeding supplies that are essential for treatment but not covered by their medical plan.

When a child has a serious illness it takes an enormous toll on the entire family–both emotionally and financially. The assistance W4K BC provides makes the family's burden a little lighter so they can focus more of their time and energy on caring for their sick child.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and generous donations, it means so much to me!☺️ In less than a few hours, we more than tripled my initial goal of $100, and we are now currently sitting at over $650! I am absolutely blown away by your support!

I plan to have my hair cut near the end of July, after which I will update everyone here with pictures, as well as our official final fundraising total😁

Hi folks!

I’ve been growing my hair for several years now with the aim of donating it to Wigs for Kids. I was inspired by my mom, who donated her hair several times for this cause.

I have shared this plan with my friends, family, and coworkers, all of whom expressed their support and eagerness to see the final cut. But just as I booked my haircut appointment my partner mentioned it might be a good idea to try to raise a few bucks for the cause too!

Wigs for Kids BC is a volunteer-run program that provides free, custom-made wigs to B.C. kids experiencing hair loss due to cancer or other serious illnesses. They also help cover the costs of essential drugs and feeding supplies for those not covered by MSP.

If you are able to, any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your incredible support - I can’t wait to see how much we can raise and share the before and after pics!
