Help Bring Comfort to Kids Through Pet Therapy.
Please join us in supporting BC Children's Hospital's Pet Therapy program through our Small is Mighty Month of May campaign!
As the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to children, over 125,000 children and their families rely on BC Children’s Hospital each year. Every donation makes a powerful impact, helping ensure that kids from across the province receive the best possible health care when they need it.
This year, BC Hydro Power Pioneers have chosen to designate our donations for the Pet Therapy program, which employs over 50 pet-trainer teams (mostly dogs, though they also boast one Bengal cat and a bunny) to comfort kids and families when it’s needed most.
Together, we can change the future of health care for kids across the province. Together, we are mighty.

Thank you for your amazing support - let’s keep making strides to conquer childhood illness.
Your Impact
At BC Children’s Hospital, pet therapy teams bring comfort, connection, and moments of calm when kids and families need them most. A visit from a therapy dog, bunny, or cat can ease anxiety before procedures, support recovery during long hospital stays, and brighten difficult days for patients, families, and staff alike.
Each year, specially trained pet therapy teams provide thousands of visits across inpatient and outpatient areas of the hospital—helping children feel safer, stronger, and more supported throughout their care. This donor-funded program relies on community support to continue reaching kids when it matters most.
Together, we can help ensure these meaningful moments of comfort and care continue for children across B.C.
