We're fundraising for...Lexi
Lexi lost her life due to complications from her ultra-rare condition, Blau syndrome. Throughout her life, BC Children’s Hospital played an essential role in her care. Lexi went to regular appointments there, and it was at BC Children’s that her condition was finally diagnosed, just before her third birthday, after years of searching for answers.
Felix, Lexi’s brother, has made it his mission to carry on her legacy by creating A Million Acts of Love, a campaign that aims to inspire one million acts of love by December 16—what would have been Lexi’s 12th birthday. Felix has raised over $100,000 for rare disease research and established the Lexi’s Legacy Medical Research Grant, which continues to fund vital research. He has spoken at medical conferences worldwide, sharing Lexi’s story and advocating for better awareness and care for rare diseases.
Participating in the Festival of Trees is a way for us to support the vital work of BC Children’s Hospital. Our tree is a tribute to Lexi’s memory and all the children battling rare and complex conditions and an invitation for the community to join Felix’s mission to inspire A Million Acts of Love. Each donation to this page counts as an act of love toward Felix’s goal. We encourage donations of all sizes, even a spare dollar or two, in honour of Lexi and for the many children who rely on BC Children’s for their care.
