Welcome to my fundraising page for the 2026 Mining for Miracles Pie Throw!
Hello, my name is David Alt, and thank you for taking a moment to visit my page. This cause is close to my heart because of what happened to the family of someone I have known for many years. A client who became a good friend a decade ago faced every parent’s worst fear when his daughter was diagnosed with cancer during the height of COVID. He spent months traveling from Victoria to Vancouver so he could stay by her side at BC Children’s Hospital.
It was an incredibly difficult time, but the team at BC Children’s never stopped fighting for her. With their support, and with resources made possible through donations and community efforts like this one, she received the treatment she urgently needed and made a recovery that felt nothing short of miraculous.
Today she is healthy, completing university, and thriving. Seeing her transformation showed me what compassionate care, specialized programs, and unwavering support can make possible for families facing the unimaginable.
I am proud to support Mining for Miracles and the work being done at the Centre for Health Complexity. Your donation helps ensure that children with the most complex medical needs receive the care and hope they deserve. Thank you for helping make a meaningful difference for kids and families across BC.
