Paying it forward - helping other kids
Dear friends and family,
I write you with the best news a parent can get.
As you know, our daughter Aurora was born with a rare congenital condition, subsequently lost nearly all her intestines, and was said to be one of the most terrible cases of “Short Bowel Syndrome” they’d ever seen.
We were told initially to not expect her to live long, but we chose to believe in her body’s ability to heal. Over a dozen years we worked with specialist teams in Pretoria, South Africa, and both Toronto and Vancouver, Canada to push her body and make it work.
The unthinkable has happened and after 12 years she has managed to conquer her condition, requiring no further operations or treatments other than to be monitored. It is truly unbelievable to us that the child who was predicted to die, would instead thrive.
There’s lots of kids out there like Aurora who still need help. Their families need help, and the best way to do that is to donate so that those funds can be used in the treatment of those other kids. I can tell you from being on the receiving end of these donations, every bit makes a huge difference!
I know theres a lot of worthy places that need your donation money, and this is no different. How about parking your donation with us this year? You get a tax receipt for next spring’s taxes, and the immense gratitude of our whole family.
Please help us make dreams come true for other kids like Aurora. We believe in you!
As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.
Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.
Your donation to my fundraising page will help advance care for kids across the province and support experts at BC Children’s Hospital in their quest to conquer childhood illnesses.
Thank you for your support.

Now that our baby is healed, we will continue to advocate for other people's children.
