For the Kids

We are just six weeks away from participating in our fourth annual RBC Race for the Kids in support of BC Children’s Hospital.
This year feels especially meaningful as we run together as a team—a team of mighty kids and adults (the Ross', Johnson's and Delcheva's).
Race day always brings a wave of emotion for me. Being surrounded by a community coming together to support a place that changes lives is something truly powerful.
My connection to this cause is deeply personal. When Kalidoni was born, we spent time in the NICU. I remember feeling grateful that his heart was strong, as the cardiologist explained babies can handle high heart rates for days! Yet we were living with the uncertainty of SVT (a rapid heart rate). It was a time filled with both fear and hope, not knowing what the next episode would bring.
Through it all, the care we received was extraordinary. The team of physicians and nurses provided unwavering support—emotionally, mentally, and physically. Even in the quiet hours of the night, when fear and exhaustion felt overwhelming, there was always a kind nurse, a steady presence, and an expertise rooted in caring for children.
A year later, Kalidoni (Lido) had outgrown his heart condition, as 90% of infants do. A mighty recovery.
For all kids—big and small, always mighty—we continue to fundraise to support the hospital’s commitment to excellence in care.
On June 7th, 2026, we will be participating in the Vancouver race. If you’re able, please consider supporting our team as we work toward our fundraising goal and help make a difference for families across the province.
With love and gratitude,
Mariana

Small is Mighty
Thursday 26th FebOur family will be participating in our 3rd annual RBC race for the kids on June 8th 2025. Our goal to raise funds to donate to the Bc Children’s hospital is simply to support any family ever in need of care. We received the utmost care and attention when Kalidoni was born in 2022 with a heart condition and were in the NICU for a week. We donated milk to the BC Women’s Milk Bank for 18 months after. Did you know the Vancouver Milk Bank supplies all 14 NICUs in BC?
In 2024, when Athanasia broke her arm, we had the option for a water proof cast, which allowed her to swim and take Lucious bubble baths! The tender care at BC Children’s was such a positive experience, and the popsicles were a bonus.
Our personal experiences of BC Children’s hospital exemplified the ultimate advances in care and the research that is dedicated to providing the utmost care in the complex health challenges facing babies and youth in BC.
We are so grateful for the support we have received over the years. If you are able to donate for 2025, any small step will help make mighty strides.
Thank you 🙏
With love,
Jordan, Mariana, Athanasia and Kalidoni Ross
