When I was 5, I found out I had a rare immune condition called Nephrotic Syndrome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent time at BC Children's Hospital receiving treatment and care.
From the very beginning, the doctors, nurses, and staff at BC Children's Hospital were incredibly kind and caring. They helped me -and my parents- through this really tough time and made me feel safe when we were scared and uncertain.
I still visit the BC Children's Hospital for check ups, and they have always been there for me and my family. Their dedication helps thousands of kids across BC to receive specialized care.
Last year, through BC Children's I was invited to a kidney camp last year. There, I met other kids who were going through similar health stuff and it was a chance to make friends, share experiences, and realize that I wasn't alone.
Today, I am running to give back to the hospital that has given me so much attention and care.
