I’m helping kids be mighty

As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.

Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.

Your donation to my RBC Race for the Kids fundraising page will help advance care for kids across the province and support experts at BC Children’s Hospital in their quest to conquer childhood illnesses.

Thank you for your support.

Peanut scare at 7 months old

Tuesday 23rd Apr
As some of you know, at a tender age of 7 months old, I had an anaphylactic reaction to peanut butter. With an amazing team of healthcare professions, I was expedited and treated at BC Children's Hospital. A few months after the incident, I joined the Food Allergy Immunotherapy (FAIT) Program at BCCH.

Little Legends (formerly known as Team Allergy) is raising funds for the FAIT Program, a program that truly touches my heart.

The demand for food allergy treatment is increasing, and innovative solutions to expand access to treatment in a cost-effective way are needed, including delivering treatment to patients living in remote areas, and patients from all socioeconomic backgrounds.  The FAIT Program and BCCH are working towards a future where patients no longer have to worry about their food allergy, which will ultimately lead to improvements in quality of life, and prevention of anxiety, bullying, and social isolation.

I am hopeful that one day I can safely eat a peanut butter sandwich without fear and anxiety.

Here's to the unwavering commitment of "Little Legends" and to another year of making a profound difference in the lives of countless families through our continued support of the BCCH and FAIT Program.
