As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.
Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.

The speed of a turtle varies depending on the species, but a fast-moving land turtle, like a softshell turtle, can reach speeds of around 5 km/h (3.1 mph) in short bursts. However, most land turtles typically move at about 0.2–0.5 km/h (0.1–0.3 mph). Time to travel 2 kilometers: Fastest turtles (5 km/h) → ~24 minutes Common land turtles (0.5 km/h) → ~4 hours Slow turtles (0.2 km/h) → ~10 hours If it's a sea turtle swimming, speeds can reach 10–20 km/h (6–12 mph), meaning it could cover 2 km in 6–12 minutes at full speed.
