As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.
Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.

This is Rylan
Monday 6th AprOur sweet little boy was born with a heart defect called TAPVR. We knew he would eventually need corrective surgery, it was just a matter of when. At two and a half months old, he began struggling to eat and started losing weight, so we knew he was ready.
Jason and I spent two weeks at the ICU and recovery ward with Rylan, watching our strong boy fight through desats, suctioning, and withdrawal from sedation medications.
Fast forward to today, Rylan is 9 months old and growing well at his own pace. He is the sweetest and happiest little boy, all thanks to the incredible team at Children’s Hospital. From our time in the NICU and PICU to countless cardiology appointments and ongoing support from the nurses and dietitian, Rylan wouldn’t be who he is today and I wouldn’t be the mom I am without their care.
We've been wanting to give back to the hospital. Since 14 years of schooling to become a pediatric cardiologist might be a bit unrealistic at this point, I’ll start with a fundraiser.
