I’m helping kids be mighty

Jayden's birth journey was marked by both challenges and triumphs. Born prematurely at 34 weeks, his entrance into the world was accompanied by complications that necessitated an emergency C-section. This unexpected turn of events brought about concerns for Jayden's health and well-being.

As he took his first breaths, Jayden faced the adversity of bruising around his head, face, and neck—a testament to the difficulties he had encountered during delivery. However, his resilience and the swift actions of the medical team provided a glimmer of hope.

Jayden's immediate care needs led to his transfer from Burnaby Hospital to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at BC Children's Hospital. This transition offered him access to specialized medical attention and a nurturing environment tailored to the unique needs of premature infants.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff who worked tirelessly to ensure Jayden received the best possible care during his time in the NICU. Their skillful interventions, attention to detail, and constant monitoring helped Jayden overcome the obstacles he faced, enabling him to thrive and grow.

The safe and nurturing environment provided by BC Children's Hospital became a beacon of hope for our family. From the moment Jayden arrived in their care, we witnessed their commitment to his well-being, always putting his needs first. Their consistent communication, patience, and willingness to answer our questions and address our concerns provided immeasurable comfort during an uncertain time.

Today, Jayden stands tall as a vibrant and healthy child, a testament to the exceptional care he received. The invaluable contributions of BC Children's Hospital have shaped his journey, leaving an indelible mark on our lives. We will forever be grateful for their unwavering support, expertise, and the impact they have had on Jayden's life.
