Dear Friends,
Each year, our family joins the RBC Race for the Kids in support of BC Children’s Hospital—and this year, we’re doing it again with even more gratitude in our hearts.
As many of you know, our daughter Ophelia was born eight weeks early with a rare kidney condition called Bartter Syndrome. The first few years of her life were incredibly challenging: biweekly hospital visits, weekly blood draws, constant vomiting, and overwhelming stress as we adjusted to a new and uncertain reality.
But through it all, BC Children’s Hospital was there—not just as a medical provider, but as a source of support, compassion, and strength. Today, thanks to their incredible care, Ophelia is a thriving and spirited seven-year-old, and we continue to rely on the hospital’s amazing Nephrology team. They've become like family to us.
BC Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in the province dedicated exclusively to children. Each year, nearly one million kids in BC and the Yukon count on its specialized services—and that includes families like ours. We are beyond fortunate to have such an extraordinary institution right here in our province.
