Mighty Brooks

When Brooks was around 1 years old he was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Neonatal Marfan Syndrome, this genetic condition affects all the connective tissue in his body. 
Brooks is seen by a few specialists at BC Children's like Cardiology and Ophthalmology and Orthopedics and the Pain Clinic. We go to Children's about every 6 months to check up on how he is doing, he has also had some surgeries on his eyes and his stomach.
 Our biggest concern at the moment is his heart, we are monitoring his mitral valves and aorta closely as these are affected greatly by his condition. 
Brooks is a happy 5 year old boy who starts Kindergarten in September and he also spends a lot of time at BC Children's which is never much fun for a young kid, but Brooks LOVES his hospital!!
Every time we turn the corner and he sees the  "BC Children's Hospital" he yells "My hospital!" the staff have always gone above and beyond for him.
He calls it his toy hospital as he also has a iPad or some toys when he has his visits and he never seems to mind having to get blood drawn go have to go to sleep for a MRI. 
BC Children's hospital has given so much to our family we hope you can help us give back to the hospital that is helping give Brooks the best life he can have!
