Why I’m Supporting RBC Race for the Kids
The RBC Race for the Kids is more than just a run to me. It is a way to support the work of BC Children’s Hospital, the only hospital in British Columbia dedicated entirely to kids. The care they provide is life changing for families across the province, helping children face serious illnesses with specialized treatment and support.
Even though children’s health care has improved a lot over the years, there is still more to do. Many kids continue to face serious health challenges and hospitals like BC Children’s rely on community support to fund research, treatment, and care programs that make a real difference.
That is why I got involved in the RBC Race for the Kids. It stood out to me because it brings people together through something simple but powerful. Running becomes a way to raise awareness and support real change for kids who need it.
This is also where my school club, Care4Kids at Moscrop, connects to the event. I founded Care4Kids because I wanted to help create more awareness and action around children’s well-being. Being part of this run gives us a way to extend that mission beyond school and contribute to something bigger than ourselves.
What I have realized through this experience is that impact does not always start big. Sometimes it starts with showing up, participating, and choosing to care about issues that affect other kids in our community.
Whether it is running, donating, or simply sharing awareness, every action supports the same goal of helping improve the lives of children across the province.
For me, this run is not just an event. It is a reminder that small actions, when shared by many people, can create real change.
Thank you for your support.
