Where Strength Begins: Supporting the Tiniest Lives

Each year, families across British Columbia experience both the joy and uncertainty that can come with welcoming a newborn who needs specialized medical care. For families like ours, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at BC Women’s Hospital becomes a place of hope, healing, and extraordinary care. More than 1,000 premature or critically ill babies from across BC and the Yukon receive care in the NICU each year.
Behind every incubator is a family navigating an unexpected journey, and it’s an experience we personally know all too well. It is not a path that we planned for, but it is one shared by many. While each family’s story is different, the feeling is the same: deep gratitude for the care and support that surrounds these tiny fighters. Our journeys may all look different, but one thing is certain, these little ones may be small, but they are incredibly mighty.
We’re helping kids be mighty
As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.
Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.
Your donation to our RBC Race for the Kids fundraising page will help advance care for kids across the province and support experts at BC Children’s Hospital in their quest to conquer childhood illnesses.
Thank you for your support.
