Sunday 12th Apr
Our son River was born on February 9th alongside his twin brother, Oakley. While Oakley has been doing well, River entered the world facing some big challenges. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), two serious congenital heart conditions that have required him to stay in the NICU since the day he was born.
Since then, River has shown us what true strength looks like. Despite everything he’s been through in such a short time, he continues to fight every single day. As parents, it’s been an emotional and overwhelming journey which has been full of uncertainty, long days at the hospital, and moments that test us in ways we never expected.
We are participating in this race for BC Children’s Hospital to give back to the place that has been caring for our son and supporting our family through this incredibly difficult time. The doctors, nurses, and staff have made all the difference in River’s journey, and we are so grateful for the care, compassion, and expertise they provide.
Every donation helps support families like ours and ensures that children like River get the best possible care when they need it most. Thank you for being part of River’s story and for helping us make a difference.
