Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.

How BC Children’s Hospital Helped little me

Thursday 14th May

When I was 2 years old I was diagnosed with Bilateral hip dysplasia - and It hit my parents hard. They poured everything into making the situation as comfortable as possible for little me. While facing the unknown, BC Children's Hospital was there for them.

I was lucky to have been placed under the care of the marvelous pediatric surgeon, Dr. Henry Michael Bell. He found a way for me to undergo surgery without damaging my femurs in the process. And so, over several months I had 5 total surgeries on my hips. Because of the amazing work at BC Children’s Hospital I am now able to do most everything with minimal intrusion in my day-to-day life.

Last year my best friend Marina and close friend Maxwell ran for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and raised nearly $5000! This year I will be joining them on their journey.

I can say for certain that I would not have my current quality of life without the care of BC Children’s Hospital. It is truly a gift to have been taken care of by such an amazing foundation. That is why I am running along with the Cascadia Grizzlies on June 7th - to fundraise for kids like me. Thank you for all of your support.
