My big sister

Hi! My name is Joshua.

When my mom was pregnant with me, my big sister Kaitlyn was diagnosed with BPAN (Beta-Propeller Protein-Associated Neurodegeneration), a very rare genetic neurological disorder that affects fewer than 2,000 people in the world. BPAN can affect how kids learn, move, communicate, and grow.

I’m two years old now, and I love my big sister so much. When I see her, I scream with joy. I’m always trying to help her by bringing her things she likes, like Goldfish crackers or her favorite toys.

BC Children’s Hospital has helped my family through some really big moments. The doctors and nurses have supported Kaitlyn and helped my family understand how to care for her and cheer her on as she learns new skills.

My family is running to raise money for BC Children’s Hospital to say thank you and to help other kids and families get the same care and support.

Thank you for supporting our run!
