I’m helping kids be mighty!

Earlier this year, a friend of mine lost her baby while he was being cared for at BC Children’s Hospital.

I never had the chance to meet him, but I know that his parents showed up to the hospital day after day for the long stretch of months he spent there. Witnessing that kind of love reminds you how fragile life can be and how much strength it takes to keep going while holding something so heavy.

They also shared how much the care they received at the hospital meant to them, not just during his time there, but even after his passing. 

I’m running this race in his memory, and in support of families who find themselves in spaces like that where they are navigating both hope and heartbreak at the same time.

This is just a small way to honor his short life and stand with the people who carry him with them every day.
