why we are running 2026
We are running this race for the kids because our family knows firsthand how much the hospital and its incredible team can change a life. Our daughter Eva was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2022, and the journey that followed was the hardest thing our family has ever faced. Thanks to the dedication, expertise, and compassion of the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for her, Eva is now in remission.
The hospital didn’t just treat a disease—they saved Eva’s life and supported our whole family through every step of the journey. Their care gave us hope on the hardest days and helped bring our little girl back to health.
This year marks our fourth year running this race. Each step we take is a way to say thank you, to honor the children and families who are still fighting, and to help ensure that lifesaving care and research continue for kids like Eva. We run with gratitude, hope, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and strong.
We’re helping kids be mighty
As the only hospital in BC devoted exclusively to kids, BC Children’s provides the specialized care that seriously ill kids need to fight their health battles.
Amazing progress has been made in improving children’s health care. But the fact is, there’s still more to do when it comes to taking on the biggest health threats facing our kids.
Your donation to our RBC Race for the Kids fundraising page will help advance care for kids across the province and support experts at BC Children’s Hospital in their quest to conquer childhood illnesses.
